Javentry - nutmeg husk, is also called mace, which the membrane that grows around the nutmeg seed. Mace and nutmeg have similar qualities, but nutmeg is slightly sweeter while mace has a more delicate flavor. Both serve different purposes in Indian cooking. Mace is mainly used in savory dishes and nutmeg is often used in sweet dishes and it requires slower, longer cooking.
